Dance Works Season 2

A journey into the world of celebrated flamenco artist María Pagés. Once a child prodigy of flamenco’s golden era, Pagés now inspires a new generation at her Madrid dance centre while pushing the boundaries of the art form through powerful theatrical works. The film culminates in a moving homecoming performance of Una Oda al Tiempo in the flamenco heartland of Seville.

Israeli choreographer Sharon Eyal creates electrifying contemporary dance that fuses club culture with the stage. During a summer residency at Bold Tendencies in Peckham, she and collaborator Gai Behar develop a daring new work with the L-E-V company. Blending techno, fashion, light and relentless choreography, the film captures a creative process that pushes bodies, boundaries and contemporary dance itself.

Artistic Director Cassa Pancho mentors young talent while dancer-choreographer Mthuthuzeli November creates a powerful new work, The Waiting Game.
